The Canton Lions Club once more will sponsor the AMBA Blood Screening Event in Canton. This year's screening will be held on Saturday, April 10 from 6 am to 10 am at Canton Elementary School.
The AMBA panel includes tests for:
• Coronary Disease - Cholesterol, HDL cholesterol; Cholesterol/HDL ratio; Triglycerides; LDL cholesterol
• Anemia- Red Blood Indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW); Hemoglobin; Hematocrit; Red Blood Cell count; White Blood Cell count; Serum Iron
• Liver Disease - Albumin; GGT; AST; ALT; LD; Total Bilirubin; Direct Bilirubin; Total Protein; Alkaline Phosphatase
• Diabetes - Glucose
• Kidney disease - Blood urea nitrogen; Creatinine; Estimated Glomerular Filtation rate (GFR)
Other tests - Calcium; Magnesium; Chloride; Phosphorus; Potassium; Sodium; Uric Acid; TIBC; Transferrin Saturation.
The AMBA Panel includes all tests listed above for a total of $35.
These optional tests are available at the cost listed: Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) $25.70; Thyroxine (T4) $11); Insure Colon Rectal Kit ($20); Cardio CRP ($27).
Please note that all optional tests require a separate script from your physician.
The Canton Lions Club charges a $3 handling fee.

Please provide the name of your physician and address at the time of the call.
It is necessary to fast before the test, and the Lions will be serving breakfast for folks to enjoy after the tests. One need not be having the test in order to enjoy breakfast.
