Sidewalk Grants Still Available To Canton Borough Residents

Wednesday March 3, 2010 This is to inform Borough residents that funds continue to be available for sidewalk repair or replacement grants on a first come, first serve basis. This is a grant (depending on income) for low and moderate income homeowners in the Borough for sidewalks at owner occupied single family residences.

“It is recognized that numerous Borough property owners are on a fixed income, which makes it difficult for them to maintain the condition of their sidewalks. With the gracious assistance of the Bradford County Commissioners, our grant program should eliminate that difficulty and help improve our community and the individual’s property”, Borough Administrator Amy Seeley stated.

The Borough Administrator encourages all Borough property owners in need of new or repair sidewalks to apply for the sidewalk grant by calling 570-673-5700 or stopping in at the Borough Hall for application forms.

Incomes must be verified and will be done so and kept strictly confidential.

Please help us improve the sidewalks and make them safe for our residents and help to enhance the overall appearance of Canton Borough.
